Peggy A. Parnell, LMFT
Peggy has worked in the counseling field since 1998, and was licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2010. She joined Hope in fall 2016.
"I have had the wonderful and unique opportunity of working with children, teens, parents, couples, and senior citizens. My work settings have included private practice, Petaluma People Services Center, school settings (with all ages) throughout Petaluma, group homes and drug and alcohol treatment centers. I have facilitated and authored teen and adult groups.
I believe an individual unfolds naturally if placed in the right environment. It is relationships and trust that heal. I am particularly adept at working with depression, anxiety, divorce, loss, trauma, and families struggling with alcohol and substance abuse. I utilize many modalities (including psycho-dynamic, cognitive behavioral, art and sand-tray therapies), and others based on the need of the client. I love working with existential issues where individuals are trying to find meaning, direction, and hope in their lives. I feel honored and called to do this work, and look forward to engaging with all who find themselves meeting with me."
